A galimoto is a handmade push toy from Malawi. a young boy is determined to gather enough wire and design his own galimoto. This could be combined with a craft activity, using pipe cleaners. ( ) Kondi, who lives in Malawi, Africa, is determined to make a galimoto -- a toy vehicle made of wires. His brother laughs at the idea, but all day Kondi goes about gathering up the wire he needs. By nightfall, his wonderful galimoto is ready for the village children to play with in the light of the moon. In this children's picture book, a young boy wants to make a toy called a Galimoto. He needs a lot of wire to construct it so he goes around to different people and places asking and looking for wire that he can use. Many times he gets hindered by someone who doesn't realize what he is doing like the police who think he's stealing something. It can start a discussion about how to keep on trying when it might seem hard to do and the boy is a good example of that. Teachers could have students journal about a time they wanted to do something but it took a while because they encountered many obstacles in their way and how they worked around them. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
