The book also teaches children the best method of preventing the spread of germs: hand washing. I also like the illustrations in the book because they were colorful and bright. I think this is a great informational book/fiction book for children to read with a good message. Iris Has A Virus is a children's picture book about a little girl who gets sick a few days before she's supposed to go to her grandpa's party with her family. Her little brother, Doug, is worried that they won't go if Iris is still sick and asks his parents if they could hire a babysitter for his sick sister. Iris goes to the doctor and he tells her mom that she will be in bed for a few days. So, for a few days, Iris is laying in bed. When Saturday comes (the day they're supposed to go to their grandpa's), Iris feels better and they start driving to the party. Unfortunately, Doug starts feeling sick and they have to go home so he can go to bed. Iris, to get back at her brother, asks if they could hire a babysitter and go to the party. This book wasn't very entertaining. The story was pretty original but the illustrations weren't unique: They showed exactly what the text was saying. If I was a mother, I wouldn't read this book to my child because I don't think anyone would be able to get anything out of it except maybe a laugh or two. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
