This book dates from the period just before the liberated early nineteen-seventies when there was a demand for mildly titillating books on erotic subjects which could reasonably avoid the charge of pornography. Paul Tabori was very good at writing these, and he convinced the respectable NEL to publish them. 'Dress and Undress' is a cornucopia of the history and practice of using both clothing and other forms of bodily adornment with erotic intent. As with the majority of popular literature it is very poorly supplied with references to sources, and it is frequently so dogmatic in its presentation of facts that the reader wonders about its reliability. In addition, it should be pointed out that 40+ years of research is likely to have modified and extended our knowledge. The book mostly concerns female fashions, but is by no means exclusive. It will be found interesting as an introductory work, athough it is certainly a substantial read. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
