Did a quick read of this, having come across it via Acorn Naturalists and then finding it at Goodwill this weekend. Definitely has a great approach for using the concept of close observation to develop higher level thinking skills - particularly the use of analogy and scientific literacy. Some of it came across as too hard sell (buy our kits! our loupes are awesome!) but I will definitely use it as a reference guide as part of our homeschool library, given Z's natural predilection for magnification at any scale.
