I like the way this book shows how much the town gets together to get the boat unloaded and loaded. Through the pictures, the people are scrambling around. The town is sleepy and silent, until the steamboat comes. When the steamboat arrives, they all help out. After the steamboat leaves, the town goes back to silence. ( )

People rush to see what will be coming off the ship and everyone who is traveling for a specific reason. About every 3 pages the text yells, " Ste-e-e-e-eamboat a comin'!! Kids will be delighted to scream that along with the towns folks. The author offered tons of pages filed with rhythm and pictures to keep you wanting more! The pictures are good for students so they can see what the 1800s looked like and can take them back in time!! ( )
