This book is organized by short 'chapters' that follow the cycle of a seed to an apple, and how the plant changes through the seasons. What I like about this book is that it has bolded vocabulary texts (with a glossary of those words in the back), and labeled diagrams and pictures which help to foster academic vocabulary. At the end of the book, there is also a summarizing diagrams of the life cycle of an apple, as well as labeled 'maps' of apple trees and apples. The book does a great job of giving a succinct description of the life cycle of plants, and could be used in the classroom to guide the creation of a similar diagram that shows the life cycle of a different kind of plant, or maybe to compare it to life cycles of animals. ( ) This is a great non-fiction selection to teach young students about the life cycle of apples. I don't read it word for word to my kindergarten students because it's a little over their heads, but love using it for the pictures and text features (table of contents, bolded vocabulary terms, captions, etc.) This is a nonfiction book that can keep in my reading center and kids will pick it up on their own and look over the pictures forever. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
