It's hard to believe Margaret Robinson didn't write any books after this one, at least not in the same genre.
What a wonderful story of a Vermont spinster who receives praise for a poem written in a magazine from a man who's homesteading in Washington. They strike up a correspondence, and he asks her to come and visit, with possible matrimony in mind. She's no beauty, and she'll remain a spinster at home, so she swallows her pride and leaves for Washington. But her suitor doesn't show up at the train stop to meet her! So they start off on the wrong foot, both with hurt feelings. Enjoy this one, it's one of my very favorites. ( )
