I recently reread this book. The last time I read it there was so much history I wasn't aware of I just didn't grasp a lot of what was in the book. This book is a reprinting of a collection of letters sent to 2 magazines over the span of many years making claims about the origins of Gardnerian Wicca. Many of the claims are absolutely false. We know that they are based on either historical information or information that has come to light. Some of the claims are just wild and not believable in the slightest. A few claims are just reasonable and logical enough to be believable. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read the second time around. I wouldn't recommend this for someone without a decent grasp on craft history. This should probably be on every Wiccan's shelf. (
