Fiction. Literature. Thriller. Historical Fiction. A crackling new novel in the bestselling Honor Bound series, by the master of the military thriller. As with his three enormously popular seriesâ??Brotherhood of War, The Corps, and Badge of Honorâ??Honor Bound and Blood and Honor, W. E. B. Griffin's novels of World War II espionage in Germany and Argentina, became immediate bestsellers. These are "immensely entertaining adventures" (Kirkus Reviews), "superior war stories" (Library Journal) "whose twists and turns keep readers guessing until the last page" (Publishers Weekly). Now, in Secret Honor, Griffin creates his most rousing novel yet.In Wolf's Lair, a German general works toward the assassination of Adolf Hitler. In Buenos Aires, the general's son, codenamed Galahad, falls under suspicion by the SS after a Nazi operation suddenly goes bad. In the middle of it all is OSS agent Cletus Frade, who knows the identity of them both and what they will do nextif they can survive that long. For not only are SS and Abwehr officers hot on their trails in both countries, but the OSS has branded Frade a rogue agent and is determined to shake the truth from him, at whatever cost. If Frade can't figure out a way to hold them all off, then the futures of all three men may be very short indeed.Written with all the special flair that Griffin's readers expect, filled with high drama and real heroes, Secret Honor is further proof, in Tom Clancy's words, that "Griffin is a storyteller in the grand tradition." â??This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of th… (más)

Interesting plot based on WWII history in Argentina. A man's book with lots of machismo. I gotta keep reading the series to see what happens with the characters...even though this book was 19+ hours and the others are that long, too. In the middle of the book, the German fighter pilot is recalled to Germany and flies their new jet. One wonders about that "aside" in the plot...and others. ( )

Yes, the soap opera continues. Talk about your guilty pleasure. But then what else am I going to do, its not like I'm going to fence here. ( )

Griffin adroitly shifts among German, American, and Argentinian culture milieux and fills the plot with believable romance, intrigue, and diplomatic fencing, while capturing the horrors of war and crucial role of intelligence agents...What will happen to the SS, Cletus, and the surviving cast promises an equally exciting sequel.

Griffin's strong eye for detail and rousing ability to keep real earth under his hero's heels give surprising lift.

Descriptions of the war's battles and its leaders, its aircraft and ships, are notable for their accuracy, which Griffin is known for...the plot moves at a brisk pace.

I would like to thank Mr. William W. Duffy II, formerly of the United States Embassy in Buenos Aires, and Colonel Jose Manuel Menendez, Calvary, Argentine Army, Retired, who both went well beyond the call of duty in helping me in many ways as I was writing this book.

During the spring of 1943, 240 German submarines were operating in the North and South Atlantic Ocean. Their mission was the interdiction of Allied shipping carrying war supplies from the United States to England and North Africa, and of Allied shipping carrying wool, beef, and other foodstuffs from (primarily) Argentina to England.
