The Crow Girls are some of my favourite Newford characters, so I was delighted to read this short story. De Lint delves into their curious, hopeful, playful personalities when he brings them into the path of a ghost boy trapped on Earth by the apparent lack of love of his mother. the Crow Girls are pretty cherryful characters, but even they must be reminded once and a while that happiness is not something to be taken for granted. It is far easier to spread sorrow, but thankfully the Crow Girls can serve as a reminder to us all to work at our own happiness and to let go of our negativity. ( )

Lemon yellow and full of sunshine. Wee little chapbook with beautiful production values. Nice paper, nice layout, with little crows dotted throughout as well as a "bonus" crow envelope.

A sad story about lost souls. It was a story with the ability to make you depressed, or sad. It made me cry. But it reminded me of something simple I had forgotten. The ability for happiness lies within ourselves and can be a conscious desicion. That to imitate happiness can make you happy. So, overall left me with an upbeat feeling. Yippee for Charles de Lint.
