The kindergarten classroom starts the first day of school counting to the 100th day of school; they place one jelly bean in a jar for each day. On the 100th day, they will have a show and tell for their 100 items. Henry uniquely thought to bring his 100-year-old grandmother, the class had many questions and comments when she came. One child stated how the grandmother was even older than the teacher and the upset emotions were seen in the illustrations of the teacher. Henry's happy emotions were apparent through his illustration and dialogue of wanting more days like this. This book can teach the concept of counting to 100. It can also teach months of the year that were shown through the book to express the time passing towards the 100th day. ( )
