Another silly, non realistic Brand novel. Randy Kitchin strikes gold, blows it all in New York and then steals when he is broke. He ends up in Folspm Prison. When he is free, he is hired to solve a rustling issue at a ranch. A constant thorn in his side is Pepillo, a young Mexican kid who he beats at one point and apologizes later for doing so.

He soon sees where & how the rustling is taking place and comes up with a plan to end it. The prize for doing so is the ranch is his. So much of the plot is slow and unrealistic and boring. Only at the end is there some action with a surprise conclusion to the plot. ( )
