Although this story had something surprising, it didn’t interest or excite me. Besides, I think that the hero and the girl shouldn’t have escaped from what they didn’t want to face. In this story, I could find nothing which made me feel good and made characters happy. ( )

Tom wanted to be jockey but his family opposed, so he ran away from home. He could hitchhike a car and met Mr.Masters and Shirley. Mr.Masters asked Tom to do a job. He needed to earn money to make his dream reality, so he accepted.
I couldn't understand what this story wanted to tell so much. Especially the end of the story. ( )

It was a little bit mysterious story. I didn't understand this book really wanted to tell me.
The story was that when Tom was hitchhiking, Mr. Masters and Shirley gave him a lift. In the car, Tom promised that he did the work which Mr. Masters wanted him to do instead he gets money from him because he needed money to live in London alone. Though he didn't know what the work was at that time, he heard a few weeks after that the work was to dive into water to find diamonds in the wreck. He worked for him hard but the work was dangerous. At the final day of the work, he was almost dead. ( )
