This book is about a little girl named Fran who wants nothing more than to play in her older brother, Leo’s, room. Even though Leo has a sign up that says, “No babies allowed” Fran sneaks in when Leo is not around. When Fran gets into Leo’s room she puts on his monster gloves, paints her face, and pretends to be a monster. She makes a pretty large mess in Leo’s room, which readers might assume to be a conflict. Instead of being angry with his little sister, Leo laughs when he sees her and says, “Monsters are like that!” This is a short and sweet book that young children might enjoy. The illustrations are pretty detailed, and it looks like Niki Daly used watercolor to create them. ( )
