I bought this book and read it immediately without thinking whether or not it was completely historically accurate or not. I enjoyed it. It does stick to the known history well and I think it fills in the gaps pretty well too. Maybe a little bit too much on Boudicea's interactions with a Roman soldier, but it wasn't really too distracting. All in all, it's a very quick read but enjoyable. This book is a fictional rendition of the bloody rebellion of the Iceny Queen, Boudica against the might and power of Rome under Nero's reign in the 1st. Century AD. After she and her daughters were brutalized, she fought to throw off the yoke of Rome and free the whole of southeastern Briton with the help from the neighboring tribe of Trinovantes.
