Jason is a popular and attractive basketball star dating equally beautiful and popular but shallow Lisa. Jason is bored with the relationship and longs for someone he can really talk to. He is paired with Kyra on an AP English project. Kyra isn't popular or beautiful but Jason finds it easy and comfortable to be with her. After breaking up with Lisa, Jason and Kyra are free to date and all is great until Kyra overhears Lisa talking about having had sex with Jason. Kyra is a virgin and has been struggling with whether to sleep with Jason. A somewhat improbable hook-up, but what plain, unnoticed girl wouldn't love to be truly noticed and appreciated by the hottest boy in school? This book is about the basketball star, Jason, falling in love with an ordinary girl Kyra. But the twist is that Jason has a girlfriend named Lisa, the most popular girl in the school. Now Jason has never cheated before, but now he has cheated ONCE on Lisa with Kyra. The next day Lisa and Jason broke up and then he asked out Kyra. Lisa hated him for this and so she set up a plan to win him back, or at least make them break up. The day before the Valentine dance Lisa put her plan to work. She saw Kyra walk into the bathroom, and her friends and she headed that way. They all acted casual as they started to pretend to gossip. Kyra overheard them talking about how Jason and Lisa had "hooked up" last Saturday. Once the girls left, Kyra ran out of the bathroom while trying to disgust what she just heard. She still got ready for the dance and acted like she was fine. But at the dance she ended it with Jason, leaving him speak less on the side walk. That weekend was the most important weekend of her life, she entered a contest and had been working on it sense she was a sophomore, now she is a junior. And this weekend are the results of that contest. She won! She was the first junior to ever win this award! Also Jason was there and they got back together after she confessed that she was wrong and sorry! I love this book! It is full of science, love and the drama of high school! I say if you like happy ending that this is the book for you. This book almost made me speechless. I've read this book two times now. Both times I was disappointed. The plot was dry and predictable. The dialogue was sappy and boring. The author spent more time talking about the character's appearance and clothing than actually making 3-dimensional characters. Wasn't good at all, and I wouldn't even recommend it as a beach read. Jason Vincent is Cross High School’s most popular star basketball player, a secretly talented writer, and a boy with a troubled relationship with his verbally abusive father. Super-smart Kyra Evans dresses slightly funny and doesn’t do much to tame her hair, but she has a loving family and doesn’t care what people think of her, least of all the popular group that Jason runs with. Their lives were not supposed to cross in high school at all…until a fateful English research paper project brings the two of them together, first as partners, then as friends, and finally as something more. Much more. Jason finds that he can tell Kyra secrets that he’s never told anyone. Kyra, rather inexperienced in the boy department, finds the perfect boyfriend in Jason. Both teenagers discover what love really is in their remarkable relationship, a relationship that, when first announced, brought the entire school to its feet in uproar. A Super-Jock and a Super-Brain, going together? It was unheard of. Impossible. It would never last. Jason and Kyra’s relationship may be magical, but they must withstand many obstacles thrown their way, particularly their different opinions over sex and the malevolent plans of Jason’s ex-girlfriend, Lisa, the most popular girl whom he dumped for Kyra. Lisa has a plan to separate the couple and get back together with her rightful boy-property. Can Jason and Kyra’s love for each other withstand hurtful assumptions? Dana Davidson’s voice is easy to read and extremely touching. Readers will find themselves sighing wistfully for a relationship as beautiful as the one Jason and Kyra share. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
