Indiana Jones has landed his first teaching post, in the archaeology department at London University. His brightest--and prettiest--student is a twenty-year-old Scottish girl, Deirdre Campbell, who claims she's uncovered a golden scroll, proof of the true existence of Merlin, sorcerer of myth and legend. Indy's intrigued by the thesis . . . and by Deirdre. So, too, is member of Parliament Adrian Powell. He's seeking to resurrect the ancient order of the Druids, whose secrets of power could pave his way to world conquest. But first he needs the scroll . . . and he's willing to kill to get it. Where there's magic, mystery, and murder, Indy goes to the head of the class. Dropping his books and picking up his bullwhip, he joins Deirdre on an action-packed chase across Britain, from the peril-filled caves of Scotland to the savage dance of the giants at Stonehenge--where Merlin's secret will finally be revealed. But not before Indy gets a lesson in love from Deirdre . . . and a lesson in hate from a maniac who means to rule the world.… (más)

I don't remember the last time i fished a book in less than week, and i would have been two days if I had more time. I had to keep turning the page to see what happens next.A brilliant story even better than some of Lucasfilm.
After getting his PhD in France Indy gets his first teaching job in London by the help of Marcus Brody. He teaches an intro class that most kids gloss over but the one egg head is also the deans daughter. Shes smaet young beautiful what every young American dreams a Scottish lass may be, but he's too scared.

Then crazy men start following him, eventually figuring their employees of this girl's ex..omg. Her term paper makes some pretty bold claims that Merlin was a historical figure, and she can prove it, as her mom just happened to br heading a dig this summer in same local.

Indy and Deidre head out to Scotland, mom will join later, sex the train, a big party when they get there.

Local priest is worried anything connected to metlin will bring pagans and Death and sin upon his town. Are the Catholics tryinh to ruin the dig, or is it the druids?

Aftee many near death experiences the couple ends up in stone Henge with even more secrecy, more like exbf and half brother troubles, and a changed soul. Highly recommended to anyone who likes adventure fiction. ( )

My seven-year-old and I found this (and all the other Indy books I own) at a garage sale. We're both big fans of the movies and thought it would be fun to read the prequels, too.

This book was everything I thought it would be. I was looking for a quick read with some action and very little need for active thought on my part. It delivered on all these fronts. I suspect that none of these books will live up to the movies, but it's unrealistic to expect them to.

Indiana Jones has his first teaching job at the University of London. There he falls for his boss's daughter, accompanies his boss (and her daughter) on a dig, is repeatedly attacked, captured by crazy druids, and (of course) saves the day. Oh. And he gets the girl - for the most part.

It was fun. It was quick. It wasn't too much for my very pregnant brain to deal with. In those regards, it was perfect. I have some issues with the way Indy is portrayed. But he is supposed to be younger in the books - so it's probably me with the problem, not the writing.

This was much better than the first in the series, "The Peril at Delphi", but here's the thing: you must read all of these Indy books in the order they were written - at least as far as Rob MacGregor's titles go. They definitely follow a storyline.

"The Dance of the Giants" refers to Stonehenge, which is actually linked to Delphi (according to MacGregor), and both linked to Merlin the Magician. MacGregor does a good job joining the two stories together, but it seems two separate books were unnecessary; they could've been one whole novel. Then again, I can't blame the guy (or Lucasfilm for that matter) for wanting to sell more books. ( )
