I say that as a warning on the offset, because it is a difficult and often complicated read. I'd advise coming to it only after a lengthy introduction to womanism/feminism, Marxism, Orientalism, and structuralist thinking. That said, it's a powerful and gripping read. I think it's absolutely indispensable for anyone concerned with post-colonial literature, the position and voice of the subaltern, the domination of Western hegemony, and the history of the 'Third World'. It's probably more vital if you have an interest in literature or politics, but is important for anyone wishing to fight against the colonization of their mind. I would recommend pairing this with some post-colonial fiction, Chinua Achebe or Mahasweta Devi, for example. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
