Read this one over christmas and really the title gives it away. I find myself groping for the details of the story which never bodes well.

Josephine Horne is a writer and has resigned herself to being on the shelf, thinking herself unattractive she has ceased trying to find a husband. She doesn't want to be hedged around with rules but finds herself attracted to Harry Beverley. Hal has to marry for duty and he has found himself a wife but he finds himself torn between caution and love. There is a lot here about choices and doing the best you can with what you're given.

Diverting but cliched this didn't really stick in my mind as a great read, though it was a way to get myself in the holiday spirit. ( )
