Very silly, irreverent fun fantasy in New York City with drunken Scottish faeries playing punk music on their fiddles. If that can't sell you on reading this, I don't know what will. ( ) Favola contemporanea strampalata e surreale: spesso divertente, talvolta lenta e ingarbugliata. Le decine di nomi non aiutano a chiarire le idee e il mitico papavero a triplice corolla è eccessivamente sfortunato. Certo che ci vuole una bella fantasia a immaginare un'invasione di fate nella Grande Mela: merita davvero una lettura. Tongue-in-cheek, perfect reading material for the airport or a day at the beach. I enjoyed the silliness and respected the candid treatment of a serious illness (Crohn's) and the plight of the homeless in New York. The fairies were a little reminiscent of the Nac Mac Feegle characters from some of Terry Pratchett's books, which I have to say come off better than Millar's. The adventure occasionally lapses into confusion for the reader to follow, but hey! it's an airport / beach book, right? I was pleasantly surprised by this book and I enjoyed it a lot more than some of the Neil Gaiman books I've read (sorry!). The humor is sharp and the characters are realistic and well-developed, humans and fairies alike. I would highly recommend this book to fans of fantasy, and especially to those who enjoy Neil Gaiman books. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
