Enola has to free Dr Watson from an insane asylum and she does it with a disguise no one would be expecting - her dressed and acting as a fine, well dressed young woman. I love the on-going overall arc of the missing mother, Enola's loneliness, and her cat and mouse play with her brothers. ( ) Enola Holmes series: When I found out the movie was based on a book series, of course I had to read them as soon as possible! It’s an absolutely delightful series in which Enola Holmes runs away to London in search of her mother, finds her life’s calling as a Scientific Perditorian (finder of lost things/people), criss-crosses the city in a variety of disguises, and always tries to stay one step ahead of Sherlock and Mycroft — which often involves walking right under their noses! There were, of course, some significant changes made for the movie adaptation: Enola is only 14 in the books, not 16; and Tewkesbury is 12 and definitely not a love interest; a lot of plot points were added to the Missing Marquess storyline for the movie; Enola’s mother plays a much smaller role in the books; and Sherlock’s acceptance of Enola as a skilled detective in her own right is a much more gradual process that spans the whole series. But the vibes are the same, and so is Enola’s character. I loved the books just as much as I loved the movie and I do hope they continue adapting the series! It seems that Dr Watson finds himself mistakingly held in a mental hospital under a false name. Despite his pleas to be released his disappearance draws concerns from Sherlock. Enola disguises herself once again to help with locating the missing Dr Watson. She gets her first clue when she visits Mrs Watson and sees a particular floral bouquet which contained flowers with sinister meanings. She is successful with her efforts to assist her brothers in locating the Dr Watson. Not quite as good as the first two novels in the series but still a very strong entry. The story is about Watson and his wife and Enola's dysfunctional family. I have to agree with Sherlock that he wishes that Enola would trust him, but I can also understand why Enola can't. The real only problem with this novel is that it's just to short, if the story was expanded it would have been a strong four star book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
