Beautiful and rhythmic, this book pays tribute to the changing of seasons; both in nature and in life. I think this book would make a particularly fine read aloud. ( ) I assume this story was intended to included the circle of life as the "big idea" but it seems a bit confusing to me personally. The story begins with a farmer and his wife who grow trees as their family grows until toward the end then the farmer dies and a tree is planted for him. The story may have come full circle but the plot seems a bit slow and sad for my taste. The illustrations on the other hand were beautifully made but possibly a bit abstract for young children, on every page i had to read the words and than pause momentarily to take in the images on the page. From an artistic point of view the illustrations were great but as a children's book i believe simple images could be more effective. The language in the book was also difficult for me, in some parts it seemed as if the author intended to rhyme but then didn't complete the rest of the phrase needed to be a successful rhyme. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
