Tucker is a spoiled brat who is also Marshal in Fort Worth. His mother is determined to find him a wife, just like she did for the other two sons (I think she's gotten more obnoxious as the series went on). Sarah is a doctor with a two-year-old son from a one-night fling with Tucker, but he doesn't realize. She's generally level-headed but puts up with a lot of nonsense from Tucker.
There's a lot of repetition in the writing. Sarah worries about Tucker finding out about his son and should she tell him or not. Tucker romanticizes about Sarah's passion in the moonlight and how he needs to be able to wander. The plot is formulaic with no suspense at all. This book was not for me. ( )
