Sandra Markle’s Animal Scavengers: Wolverines follows a female wolverine through the process of finding food and shelter, giving birth and raising a litter of kits to young adulthood. Writing in story form with (*ahem, graphic*) photos, Markle adeptly covers the usual gamut of animal book information: life cycle, food, predators, habitat, etc. The story layout doesn’t allow for easy information browsing, but an index in the back (which accompanies extension questions, along with a glossary and bibliography for further study) helps readers to pick out information for an assignment or report. Between the numerous shots of dead animals, along with the wolverine’s natural use of odiferous anal glands to ward off competition, this looks like a great pick for young boys. Highly recommended for intermediate non-fiction collections in public or elementary school libraries. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
