Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. Historical Fiction. HTML:Hidden among the remote hills of eighteenth-century England lives a powerful clan of shape-shifters who’ve become the stuff of myths and legends. They are the drákon—supersensual creatures with the ability to Turn from human to smoke to dragon. Now a treacherous new enemy threatens to destroy their world of magic and glittering power.

For centuries, they thought themselves alone at Darkfrith, but the arrival of a stunning letter from the Princess Maricara sent from the Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania suggests the existence of a lost tribe of drákon. It is a possibility that the Alpha lord, Kimber Langford, Earl of Chasen, cannot ignore. For whoever this unknown princess may be, she’s dangerous enough to know about the drákon’s existence—and where to find them. That, as Kimber can’t help but concede, gives her a decidedly deadly advantage. And, indeed, it wouldn’t be long before...

I greatly enjoyed this book, though it does not stand on its own as well as the previous two. (This is not so huge a problem, as the 4th book comes out soon.) The ending, for instance, ties up this specific plot nicely, but leaves way more up in the air than I would like. As a stand-alone, anyway. As a third book in a series which is being continued, I can handle it. Though, I do miss some of the characters whose fate is unclear, and I want to hear more about them in book #4. ( )

Slow beginning but it picked up speed nicely. Plots all around, human hunters after the Drakon, a Princess breaking all the rules and the Earl that loves her.

Queen of Dragons was interesting with letters at the beginning and end and a slightly unusual romance between Kimber and Maricara, both dragons who spend most of their time in human form. Although romance is involved here, the book is largely about the mysterious threat to dragonkind and the two different dragon communities that Kimber and Maricara come from. It is also the middle book in a series but stands alone fairly well. If I come across the others I may read them, especially the ones after Queen of Dragons.

This was the 3rd in the Dragon series. The books just keep getting better and better. I enjoyed that there was not many years difference in the book settings. The author kept them close.
this third book picks up almost where the 2nd book left off. It is less than 10 years after the 2nd book finished.
I am really bias to Shana Abe books. She has 5 house rabbits and supports animals rescue. She is such a wonderful author. I hope to read more of her books in the future. ( )

This is a book about people who turn into dragons - sorta like vampires. So, be aware of what you're getting into. If you don't mind silly, mindless entertainment where you can suspend all disbelief and just escape for a while, this is not a bad way to do it. Fast and easy to read, the story is well written enough that you won't be annoyed. ( )
