First of all, the cross-section illustrations throughout the book perfectly portrayed the parts of the caves. The author provided labels throughout the illustrations as well in order to aid the reader in understanding the text. This is important when writing an informational text because students may not have seen caves prior to reading the book. Another portion of this book that I enjoyed was when the author pushed his readers to think about the text more in real life experiences. Throughout the text (and at the end), Gibbons explains to his readers where to go, what to bring, and how to safely go on a spelunking adventure. The reason that I enjoyed this aspect of the text is because the author relates it back to the reader's experiences. For example, some children may not have had any interest in reading this informational text about caves; however, after he or she sees that there were instructions for the reader, this could push him or her to read the book. The overall purpose of this book is to inform students on the different types of caves that the earth consists. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
