The story of the Town Mouse and the Country Mouse is that both mice venture into each other's worlds to see how the other half lives. The moral of this fable is simply to be content with what you have. In this adaptation by Bernadette Watts, I wouldn't say either mouse was ungrateful, just curious. Curiosity, as they say though, killed the cat. Kids must be careful when wondering about the things they don't have cause then they tend to miss out on the things they do have. I love how both mice, although wanting to return home, still enjoyed pieces of the other's homes as well. The country mouse enjoyed the cheese and the city mouse enjoyed the berries. ( ) This book was precious and wholesome, which I think children sometimes need. I loved this book by Bernadette Watts much more than her Goldilocks story. The illustrations were so enchanting. I loved seeing the walls of the building and tree cut in half. It was so quaint and homey reading about each other's perspective, one not better than the other. I felt like a little girl in kindergarten class listening to my teacher read me this story. I thought this book was really cute. I think children would enjoy it because what kid doesn't like a book with talking mice? It would definitely show kids that even two people who live far away from one another, they can still remain friends and I think that is really important for children to know. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
