Ansley has been in love with her brother’s best friends, Matthew for the longest time and she is determined to make him hers. Matthew’s character was sweet, kind, and loyal that when he knew it would take a lot to get Ansley to forgive him for the past he put in the effort when she finally came around. The storyline was amazing and these two were perfect,but my only issue was the huge age difference. Now don’t misunderstand, I LOVE age gaps, but this one was so big it was hard to overlook things like he was 32 when she was 17 going on 18 when things between them started. I feel like if maybe the age gap wasn’t so large and he had been 26ish it still would have the same forbidden hint to it and so much would make sense like his reason for breaking her heart because to me a grown 32 year old man wouldn’t have acted on his feelings like he did in certain situations. I tried to go for suspended belief because the storyline really made me fall in love with the characters and I want to go back and read the other’s stories, but at times it was hard. Why was a grown man finding himself in situations like being blackmailed, if Matthew and her brother are friends it’s safe to say they are the same age so why was ANsley’s brother just now doing residency at the age of 32 when average age is 26ish? Like I said the huge age gap made some things distracting instead of intriguing, but overall I did love the story and the characters that I will be reading a lot more. ( )
