Great short book set in the future where the ability to cryogenically freeze people the instant before they die is a possibility. Joey's Mum had cancer and she was so scared of dying that she made Joey promise that he would put her in the House of Lazarus before it was too late. Now Joey works 2 jobs to keep his mother there; frozen on the brink of death but able to "talk" to him via a computer link from her cryogenic chamber.
