Our nonprofit puttered along for twenty plus years with a basic bookkeeping system, then we were in a position to take a loan and purchase a building. Wow did our need for a higher level of bookkeeping expand as the ideas for fundraisers poured in from our community. Our board needed help beyond the scope of the typical NOLO book, and we came across Bruce Hopkins. We read five of his words books at that time, and the two that especially stand out are Charitable Giving Law Made Easy and Nonprofit Law for Religious Organizations: Essential Questions and Answers.
