I really enjoyed the main characters and their relationship—which are really well-written, unique, and compelling. I especially loved the time Sophie took with these characters backstories and nuances. They definitely felt like real people by the end of the book. Because I liked the characters, their relationship, and the plot so much, I wanted to give it a higher rating (I kept going back and forth with how to rate this book while I was reading. However, the smut (which was well-written but not for me) and one-liners kept bringing me out of the story. While I enjoyed the book, it’s something I’m content to read on kindle unlimited and don’t think I’ll buy to add to my bookshelf. (But, again, I’m conflicted because I really did like the characters and the story—so watch me change my mind ten more times before tomorrow) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"Submission is a gift. The more powerful the person, the greater the gift." Ramses Howell is a self-made man. A billionaire obsessed with performance, he measures himself by his wins and his achievements. He's proven he can get what he wants, and from the moment Blake Abbot, brilliant and alluring escort, catches his eye, she becomes his top priority. But he can tell something doesn't add up. He sees her skill at what she does, but he knows she's hiding something, and he intends to find out what. Blake has gone to great extremes to guard her secrets. She's known who Ramses is for years, and knows exactly how dangerous he can be. But when Ramses offers her a game that he created just for her, she can't resist playing. After all, he has what she wants, too. She sets boundaries, adds rules to the game...but soon finds herself breaking her own in the process. As fantasy invades reality, their new arrangement threatens to consume them. Blake and Ramses both cross lines they swore they never would, questioning everything they thought they wanted--and everything their future could be, if they don't destroy each other first. I didn’t like it and liked it at the same time!
Ramses and Blake.
The moment he sees her he falls for her. She has that strong woman energy, smart, calculated that attracts Ramses because he is the same. Blake wanted him for so long and finally he fell in her trap (she fell too but doesn’t know about it at the beginning).
I liked their relationship through the book. They found each other, they are the same and so different. He takes care of her like no one ever did and she calms his always calculated brain. The care and love they have to each other is a dream.
However, I didn’t like that Blake was so smart and stuck to her rules, that she brakes them so soon. Gave me a weird impression of her. If she was that strong and smart as she was described in this book, she wouldn’t act with Ramses the way she did at the beginning.
Also I had a huge ick with that kitty role play. And then, in the end of the book, we have Ramses in a sub cat role play. Big big ick!!!
That is the main reason I gave this book a 3 star rating. Another reason for my rating was how invested in the book I was… which I wasn’t at all. Took me many days to finish it and I wasn’t interested in the story. ( )
