This is an action-driven stories, following Cane's eternal damnation on Earth interrupted by a mortal's fate related to his. There are plenty of characters to follow, predominantly Cane, Abigail, Raina, and Hikaru, with references of religion around the globe during their attempts to save the world. The story is descriptive and fast-moving. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The concept sounded interesting and I was curious about the comparison to His Dark Materials. I think his has a lot of potential but could use an edit. Of course writing style is very subjective so make of it what you will. While the author clearly does have a good vocabulary, I found this to be a bit long-winded and repetitive, which made it difficult to get invested in the story. I'm going to put this down for now and am unsure if I'll return in the future - I'll see how I feel. I am still interested in the idea but not so interested in the writing style.I wish the author all of the best and hope he finds his audeince! The author of The Saga of Cane presents what is obviously the first of a series, ending the book as the main characters face the next steps in their mission. I found myself frustrated, however, with the frequent misuse of grammar, semantics, and syntax throughout the book. For example, the sequence of the narrative was constantly disrupted by the confusion of verb tense, specifically past and past perfect tenses, requiring the reader to make a mental “double-take” to figure out what the author really meant to convey. I would also recommend work on the awkward dialog.I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily submitting a review. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Really tried to get through this book (always attempt to finish once I've started) but had to admit defeat in the end. The book failed to flow ; jumping wildly from place to place randomly and there did not appear to be any cohesion between the different characters. very disjointed and it didn't appear that adequate background had been gathered on the locations used. had potential but blew it. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Very action filled quick read but it did take it a bit to get going but it eventually grabbed my attention. ( )
