Wonderful story but not really for storytime. Paul Bunyan becomes besotted by a large gal living in the Midwest. He has to do three tasks before she will be his sweetheart. He fails miserably, she teaches him to love the forest and replant and then they marry. ( )

This book is pretty cute and light hearted. Paul Bunyan meets Lucette and knows she the perfect girl for him. Lucette asks Paul to complete three tasks to prove his love which he interprets differently then she is expecting. She teaches him how to clean up after himself when he is cutting down trees and do things to make her happy. My only complaint is that the roles of man and women are very stereotypical in this book. She is churning the butter, "sewing" the fields and he is cutting down trees. Otherwise, I was pretty happy with this book. ( )
