Each book has a well executed murder mystery with plot twists and sneaky red herrings. The concurrent story is the development of interaction (and more) between a homophobic homicide detective and an openly gay bookseller from a rather wealthy family (even that's complicated). All the characters are engaging and the verbal humor makes for a veritable snarkfest!
I bought the audio narrated by voice actor Christopher Patton who makes each character and story come vibrantly alive. ( )
