This book has *a lot* going on. It's a mystery/thriller, it's set in a sci-fi world, also there's a pandemic.. I think any one of these would have made for plenty of plot but having them all smashed together means that some threads feel like they don't get fully fleshed out. I was very intrigued by the mystery at the center of this novel and it kept me reading, but I didn't feel like there was any pay off at the end. The book ends without any resolution and is clearly setting itself up for a sequel - a fine thing for a book to do, but you've got to give the reader some answers! Based on early reviews of the sequel, book 2 leaves you with yet more unanswered questions so I can't say that I'm very interested in continuing the series. ( )

At first I struggled getting into this story. I just couldn't get behind Paige. Memory loss...check, PITA mother in law...check. Baby involved...check. Missing husband...check. I felt like it took too long to get into the meat of the story and I was just being hammered by the repetitive stuff from above. About 1/2 way through, the story got good. I mean, REALLY GOOD. I can't say much without spoilers, but what I can say is try this one and stick with it. By the end, you'll like it. I plan on getting the second on in the series ( )

I really enjoyed this book! Lots of twists and turns and surprises. I like when you can't guess what's going to happen next. I also liked how it brought some of our current world issues and twisted it into "earth 2". It had me guessing and once I started, I couldn't stop. I'm excited to read book 2! ( )
