From book: Man must look to the lesser creations of God in order to appreciate the true value of medicinal plants.......One day while the author was strolling with his pet, he noticed the animal go to some nearby plants and begn eating the leaves from the same. This greatly surprised him, and in his teenage ignorance, he thought this would harm the dog, and therefore made some judicious efforts to drag his canine friend away from what he then considered to be bad. However, repeated returns by the dog to his original place of eating, convienced his owner that either the animal must have been "nuts" or very hungry. To the untrained eye of a mere youth, it seemed most unnatural for a carnivouous beast to suddenly turn and feed upon vegetation. Yet, in those peculiar circumstances, the animal was merely resorting to what natural instincts had trained him to do--go to Nature for his medicine. Suffice to say, in a very short time his pet improved and the author was a llittle wiser from what this type of intelligence had taught him.
