This is coming in a bit late, but I would still like to share a few words! Scaredy Squirrel has always been a staple of my childhood, and it's no wonder that as an adult, I still enjoy reading this series. The pictures are super cute, and the situations he finds himself in are always just a little bit relatable. I definitely won't hesitate to say that, for as long as Melanie Watt continues writing books, I will continue reading them! ( )

Won as the Early Reviewers program and although it’s a little late, I must say this was such a treat. The Scaredy Squirrel series is a wonderful read covering different adventures. This Visits the Doctor is a subject hard for kids and parents. But through this story and all the beautiful illustrations it makes it easy for the reader and the little ones to deal with fear of any medical visits. While touch on learning, humor and fun! Can’t wait to read the next adventure in the series. ( )

I recieved this book as a part of the Thing Early Reviewers Program. I really like this book, it was cute and funny. It's the message about fear of going to the doctor can be helpful for talking to a child who has that fear. The various visual storytelling elements like lists and maps are a great interactive element for children and also makes it fun for an adult to read.

This is such a sweet story about scaredy squirrel and getting regular checkups. It has very fun pictures and my grade 1/2 kids had no problem reading the words with me. They laugh at his antics and we chat about how we also have anxiety about new experiences. Highly recommend for kiddos of all kinds, but expecially those who tend to be on the nervous side. ( )

Melanie Watt does not disappoint with her newest Scaredy Squirrel offering. Scaredy Squirrel Visits the Doctor is true to form. For any germaphobe that might pick up this book, the cover has a label that states it is “100% germ-free”. The inside flaps warm up readers with more humour and caution about this particular tale. The anxiety ridden rodent avoids going to the doctor until our beloved squirrel finds out a health certificate will be issued after the check-up.
Children (and adults) who fear seeing any health professional will connect with our favourite hypochondriac and perhaps be brave enough to enter a clinic after reading this book and take care of their health. ( )
