Nash is trying to get his feet back on the ground after being shot and nearly dying, so when Lina moves in next door and he begins to feel human again, he thinks she may be the answer. Lina finds Nash extremely attractive, but she isn't the type to settle down, and she recognizes that Nash is the kind of man who will want the picket fence and a bunch of kids running around. Before they can make any decisions, however, they must first deal with secrets they are both keeping and the threat that still looms over the town of Knockemout. Things We Hide From the Light is a good addition to the Knockemout series, but it's not without problems. The book is much longer than it needs to be and the character of Nash is, at times, extremely overbearing, but the rest of the quirky characters add balance, especially Lina, who is a good match for Nash. Also, many funny moments, as well as action and suspense move the plot along quickly. In addition, the banter between Lina, Nash, and other characters if first rate. Overall, Things We Hide From the Light is an entertaining novel and an enjoyable read. Things We Hide From the Light by Lucy Score Knockemout series #2. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone it better as part of the series since characters from the first story are part of the overall “family” feel. Nash Morgan was shot in the line of duty but has no memory of the event. As he recovers, he covers up his issues with bravado and swagger. Next door neighbor Lina wants to help Nash recover and maybe have a little fun together but she’s also keeping secrets. Since the shooter is still a mystery and not in custody, putting together the memories could put everyone in danger. Nash is grumpy! Ok, he is recovering and having panic attacks but he gets the girl! Suspense, female empowerment in collective and specific areas, humor, and emotional healing are all included. Plus smart and spunky women winning over the misogynist. Entertaining and an hea. A winner. Book #3 in the series is up next since I loved both so far. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

"Welcome back to Knockemout, Virginia, where the heroes are broody, the heroines are sassy, and everyone's got a secret. Nash Morgan was always known as the good Morgan brother, with a smile and a wink for everyone. But now, this chief of police is recovering from being shot and his Southern charm has been overshadowed by panic attacks and nightmares. He feels like a broody shell of the man he once was. Nash isn't about to let anyone in his life know he's struggling. But his new next-door neighbor, smart and sexy Lina, sees his shadows. As a rule, she's not a fan of physical contact unless she initiates it, but for some reason Nash's touch is different. He feels it too. The physical connection between them is incendiary, grounding him and making her wonder if exploring it is worth the risk. Too bad Lina's got secrets of her own, and if Nash finds out the real reason she's in town, he'll never forgive her. Besides, she doesn't do relationships. Ever. A hot, short-term fling with a local cop? Absolutely. Sign her up. A relationship with a man who expects her to plant roots? No freaking way. Once she gets what she's after, she has no intention of sticking around. But Knockemout has a way of getting under people's skin. And once Nash decides to make Lina his, he's not about to be dissuaded...even if it means facing the danger that nearly killed him"-- No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

• Decent. Not horrible, but definitely not as good as the first book.
• Light dom was a bit bit confusing as to the character personalities.
• I very much look forward to Lucian and Sloane’s story. ( )
