I'm a sucker for a story that is fantasy, between the world that is created and the characters I'm sucked in. This was a human and orc romance that gave a bit of an arranged marriage vibe due to her parents picking the orc. It was nice that he was a childhood friend, all in all just sweet with a tid bit of spice.Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I received a free copy from the Early Reviewers in The Library Thing.I will begin by saying that the whole plot was quite interesting, the development of the story was, in a way, logical and that's what kept me reading. I didn't mind that their romantic relationship happened so fast (right after she finds out they had been childhood friends), but perhaps a bit more of their day-to-day activities or things they did together would've been nice to read. As for the 'how' it is written, this was a conflicting point for me. Too many changes in the POV, grammar, and spelling mistakes. I do believe some of the POV changes were obsolete and could've been avoided with a conversation. There were also too many 'flashbacks', those were confusing with the storyline since some of them were placed one after the other with different timelines. All in all, it is not a bad book, but it needs some work. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I personally don't care to much for the fantasy type of novel and book but I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book. This book had a lot of errors and I wish the author went through and proofread/edited it once more. I also don't like when a story has multiple backstories I do like a flashback but these seemed to have dragged on and I started to loose interest at certain parts. This story isn't like many I read it was nice to see the build up in relationship between the human and the orc. I do like a steamy novel this one didn't shy away from those. I did like this read and I would purchase a a hard copy if the mistakes were edited and the storyline were smoother. GOOD READ!!! Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. The storyline of this book was unique and kept my attention as it unfolded. However, I think it needed another round of editing to smooth out the edges, and help the viewpoints and time shifts flow better. I still enjoyed it though!Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Princess Isla of Montorol, human, is twenty-two and her kingdom is dying. She needs to be married off for her kingdom and her people. Her parents select Dullick Rasheeckma, the orc King of Rakhda. She's worried about this relationship because of the history of orcs and humans, but she really dreams of finding her mate and being in love so she is ready to marry Dullick. Here is why I'm giving two stars. The first six chapters read more for a younger audience. Like Isla can't even stare at Dullick shirtless without giggling and blushing. But chapter seven, they are married and it instantly becomes for a mature audience. ( I do not shy away from spicy books, but this was just awkward and just didn't fit with the characters up to that point ) The next issue was that immediately we jump ahead years. We barely have a feel for these characters and now we have to deal with the jump. And the flashbacks. There is just too many, honestly. Another thing is that sometimes we got a Dual POV, but not consistent enough. Pretty much every scene after the jump with Isla and Dullick is just spicy scenes until the end. It seems the plot just fell apart and things seem rushed after the jump. I really wanted to like this book, but felt let down. 😕 sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
