I loved the realism in the artwork. This is a great way to spread awareness of the holiday and its history. The Author explores the different reactions that many freed formerly enslaved people experienced during this time. It is a good conversation starter as it serves as an introduction to Juneteenth and what it means. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

"Deeply emotional, evocative free verse by poet and activist Sojourner Kincaid Rolle traces the solemnity and celebration of Juneteenth from its 1865 origins in Galveston, Texas to contemporary observances all over the United States. This is an ode to the strength of Black Americans and a call to remember and honor a holiday whose importance reverberates far beyond the borders of Texas"-- No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
