AMELIA'S TEARS (UNLIKELY CONVICT LADIES)
by Sara Powter
This story follows Amelia's life experiences as she is wrongfully accused, found guilty of a crime, and transported to Australia to serve her seven years.
Amelia discovers the hardships faced by the women prisoners, the misuse of the women, little food, and no champion for these downtrodden ladies. Some parts may be hard for some people to read about, but there's nothing explicit, and no foul language. There is, however, an overall feeling of love and devoutness in the main characters.
I highly recommend this historical novel set in England and Australia. It is hard to read about the maltreatment of the poorest people during the 1800s. Many innocent people were transported to be victimized by many different people.
I purchased a free copy but will keep my eye out for a print copy since I'd much rather have a physical book. I will also keep an eye out for other books by author #SaraPowter #ameliastears #favoritebooks #inspyfiction #inspiratiional #historical #australia #england #strongfemaleprotagonist ( )
