I was given a free copy of this book from the author, Pierre Lawrence. This was a fantastic story. It was about a teenage girl moving to a new home and meeting people that were different from herself. She accepted them as they were, and they accepted her as she was. I would love this book to be extended. Very well written. ( )

Overall good story i guess. Half the book is info on down-syndrom. Have a lot of bad word choices

A quick read. I appreciated the detail about Down syndrome, though it seemed more than what a 13-14 year old would understand. I cringed with the use of the word "retard", even though Angie called herself that but felt better at the end by the encouragement from Alyssa that Angie was Just Angie. Having a daughter with Down syndrome, I can only hope she finds a friend like Alyssa. The amount of speech Angie had in the book seemed more than most conversations I've had with others with Down syndrome, but based on the three types of Down syndrome, it is possible. Overall a nice message at the end, I just struggled getting there. ( )
