Saturday night. Nowheresville. And Adam Prince has had a gut full. He knows every face in Splitters Creek, and in his eighteen years has explored every dream and future on offer. He wants more than a job at the local sawmill, more than the feral nights with his footy mates, and so much more than his cracked family can give. Adam needs to escape. To run. Adam drives home drunk from a football game and his ute flies off the road and onto a fencepost. It’s a wake up call for him as his brother Simon was in a terrible accident that killed his best mate and gave him severe head trauma and mental injury. Simon has left a legacy of a girlfriend and young child, and is so demanding that Adam’s mum has left him and his dad to care for his brother. Adam gets scared and “borrows” his friend’s car and drives to Melbourne to find his Mum. But Splitter’s Creek, and Tori & her son Francis are pulling him back to the bush, and then Simon goes missing – lost in the bush – and all the hurt and anger rise again as they search for him.p.4-9“I felt..” to “years” .NEEDS CENSORING IF YOU READ ALOUD AS LOTS OF F…WORDS!
