Ok I absolutely loved this book, and that’s a lot considering how long it took me to get into it. Might be the slowest start I’ve ever had, but it’s also possible that it’s because my only experiences with baseball are: 1) chaperoning a group of elementary kids to a Colorado Rockies game, and 2) reading a Sherlock AU fic where John and Sherlock are baseball players. But this was the slowest most beautiful read as we see everything through Zach’s perspective, and it was heartbreakingly real and quiet and rather angsty; it all worked for me. I was so satisfied at the end seeing Zach and Eugenio making it work, and I hope we get to see more of their story in the other books. ( ) This one started a bit slow for me and I think it's partly because I didn't care for a different book this author wrote so I wasn't giving Unwritten Rules much of a chance. It's a second-chance, dual timeline, M/M contemporary baseball romance. The main characters, Zach and Eugenio, meet at spring training for the Oakland Elephants (wink, wink) and I think the baseball scenes just took a moment to ramp up. Once the characters actually got together, I was sucked in. This book is emotional and you feel for both characters who love each other, but want different things. I loved the representation because it felt very much of the characters identity and not just sprinkled on at the end. I'd definitely recommend this one if you're looking for a slow burn, sports romance. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

What does it mean to get a second chance in a game that offers few? Zach Glasser has put up with a lot for the sport he loves. Endless days on the road, playing half-decent baseball in front of half-full stadiums and endless nights alone, pretending this is the life he's always wanted. The thing is, it could have been everything he ever wanted-if only he'd had the guts to tell his family, tell the club, that he was in love with his teammate Eugenio Morales. Well, ex-teammate now. When Zach wouldn't-couldn't-come out, Eugenio made the devastating choice to move on, demanding a trade away from Oakland. Away from Zach. Three years and countless regrets later, Zach still can't get Eugenio out of his head. Or his heart. And when they both get selected to play in the league's All-Star Classic, those feelings and that chemistry come roaring back. Zach wants a second chance. Eugenio wants a relationship he doesn't have to hide. Maybe it's finally time they both get what they want. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
