This book is about a girl that explains her day with her dad all in poetic, rhyming form. She wakes up, she swings up, she flies up and everything she describes is that when she goes to the park everything is up, because everything is tall.

Sweet story about a little girl and her daddy.  She's encouraged to be adventurous, but knows that her daddy will always catch her if she falls.  The exuberant art supports the theme.  For example, the girl is wearing a short feminine dress that's green, over yellow leggings that make it ok for her to swing up high, turn somersaults, and climb trees.  She also wears flat comfortable red shoes on the pavement, but doesn't wear them on the grass.  Would that more little girls were thus encouraged to be brave, strong, happy.... ( )

This book was great because it showed how dads surely miss the times when they played with their young children. This book brings memories to fathers and families in general. ( )

This worked quite well for my baby storytime (23 months and younger). The text suggests lots of actions for parents to do with their babies encouraging active participation. I love Hiroe Nakata's watercolor illustrations - in fact they're what caused me to pick this book up in the first place as I'm a big fan of All of Baby, Nose to Toes. Nakato's babies and toddlers are some of the cutest I've seen in picture books and it's nice to see a Dad as the main parental character. I will definitely be using this for baby storytime again sometime!
