An's grandmother Bà gets lost in her cloudy memories, so An's grandfather Ông comes up with a plan to grow and harvest gâc fruits so they can make xôi gâc, the special dessert Ông and Bà ate at their wedding, hoping for a hundred years of happiness. The dish does bring a moment of clarity and memory for Bà, but then her mind clouds again. But the moment was worth it, and granddaughter and grandfather soak more seeds to plant.

Author's note, recipe. No pronunciation guide, which would have been helpful to non-Vietnamese speakers.
