'The Big Book of Scandal ' features comic-style treatments of over 50 of the most sordid sagas to rock the 20th century. Witness the exploits of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Elvis, Liz, Di, Tricky Dicky and Bill Clinton
A collection of comics about scandal from Hollywood to Washington D.C. ranging from the early 1900's to the mid-1990's. The book is broken into sections grouping the types of scandals and each story is drawn by a different artist. I found many of the stories and characters to be unfamiliar and hard to relate to. Many of the strips were interesting for the first 6-10 frames and then became boring, I left many unread because they lost my attention. The end does have a list of sources used for each story line for further reading, and all the strips are true to the extent that public knowledge exists on each story. Overall the story lines are very mature with sex, drugs, murder, or violence in each story line. This could be good in a public library in the teens section for older high school students that enjoy comic books. ( )
