( ) It is summer break and everyone is going somewhere except Sunny and the make things worse, she has a summer birthday. Her boredom goes away when she meets Tony and the pool club. See how a boring summer turns into the best summer of her life. The authors create a fun graphic novel with relatable characters. This book will appeal to readers in grades 3-6. Everyone has had “that unforgettable summer.” This book will be a hit with lovers of graphic novels and reluctant readers. Excellent graphic novel for middle grade and adults. Sunny has issues common to many eighth graders with no summer plans - best friends are away, boredom, mom making demands - until she gets a job at a refreshment stand working with Tony, her bio lab partner. She works really hard, becomes friends with older kids, takes a lot of responsibility, and her mom's still mad! This time it's the cooler best friend who's jelly! Sunny continues to get more comfortable with herself. The illustrations greatly enhance the narrative. A fast yet thoughtful read, with nostalgic value for those growing up in the 1970s. Fans of the Sunny series will enjoy this summertime tome. At age 12, Sunny gets a job at the country club snack bar. There, she's exposed to different experiences: learning how to work during a rush, making friends with the older youth working at the club, getting to know Tony her snack bar co-worker who is also a classmate, and witnessing a bit of romance drama among the teen workers. Although her mother isn't completely happy about Sunny having a job, Sunny grows from the experience. Classic Sunny: fun, humorous and authentic. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

It's summer and Sunny is bored. Most of her friends are out of town. Her mom wants her to babysit way more than Sunny wants to babysit. There's nothing good on TV. The only cool place that's cool is the community pool. Sunny loves going there - and loves it even more when she's offered a job at the snack shack. Soon she's flinging fries and serving frozen ice cream treats - with the assistance of the very sweet boy who works with her. Life is best when it's free swim.
