He starts by saying he's always been a letter writer. "Handwritten letters are like carefully crafted songs." Sadly, he notes the art has been replaced by the instant exchange of texting.
The book is filled with inspiring stories, jokes, letters and opinions that he has written during the down time of the pandemic of 2020. At 87 years old, he's still strong in spite of years of drinking whiskey and smoking which he admits he has stopped. He believes in the power of positive thinking, the rights of voters, family values and music. He said, "Music is a great communicator. It crosses all boundaries."
If you want to know what's on his mind, this book gives you a good idea. He loves cowboys and Native Americans, talks about the world getting hotter, national debt and the devotion towards farmers. He is also a religious man with the belief that God is love. Overall, he says, "Peacefulness combined with visualization has been key to my life and my work as a songwriter."
Will this be his last word? Not likely. Looks like he still has to get back on the road. It's not a long book but grabs you at your heart. Highly recommend for everyone and especially those that needs some inspiration. "Life is better when we don't take it too seriously."
