This book is about two friends, Sloth and Squirrel, who work together and create an idea to make money to buy something that they want. They first decide to get a job jarring pickles so that they can buy a two-person bicycle. Eventually they get the idea to invent a pickle-pop and start selling them, they get their bike in the end. This was a very cute story and the characters are endearing. I think the message is that when you work together and work hard you can earn the things you want. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"Squirrel and Sloth want to buy a bicycle so that they can go FAST. But when they see how much a bicycle will cost, they realize they'll need to earn some money. Just then, they come upon a "Help Wanted" sign -- pickle packers needed! So Squirrel convinces the manager at the pickle factory to give them jobs. Squirrel and Sloth have very contrasting skill sets, and things do not go according to plan. After a few false starts, the pair end up with 677 ? jars of pickles that the factory can't sell, and only enough money to buy a couple of ice pops to enjoy on their way home. Squirrel starts to gobble his right away, but Sloth eats so slowly that his melts and drops to the ground. "Too bad," says Squirrel. "We can share mine." But then Sloth has a brilliant idea ... PICKLE POPS! A celebration of friendship, teamwork and cooperation -- and a testament to hard work and ingenuity."-- No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

For one, the idea behind this book in general is hilarious and makes it a must read. A sloth and a squirrel being buddies and working towards buying a bike. That's amusing! Add in the fun and engaging illustrations to this story (with an easy to follow and funny plot) and you've got a real winner for a fictitious picture book. Stories like these were what I needed back when I was a little munchkin and we barely had any books in my Kindergarten class.
These animals find a pickle packing job (seriously, funniest thing I've heard all week) and decide to work towards buying a bike! Also, the pickleology sign - I need one now.
Anywho, this book is comedic and fantastic! I highly recommend this picture book for how much fun it is.
Four out of five stars.
